Census Workers are now in the Field across Antigua and Barbuda for the 2025 National Population and Housing Census
St. John’s, Antigua — The National Bureau of Statistics, through the Census Office, is pleased to announce that Census Enumerators are now actively in the field conducting interviews for the 2025 Population and Housing Census.
Starting this week, trained census workers will be visiting households across the island to collect vital data that will help shape national policy, guide development planning, and inform key decisions across health, education, infrastructure, and other critical sectors.
This is a national exercise, and all residents are encouraged to cooperate fully with enumerators. The data collected will remain strictly confidential and will be used only for statistical purposes, in accordance with the Statistics Act of Antigua and Barbuda.
How to Identify a Census Enumerator:
All enumerators will carry:
- An official Census ID badge
- A branded Census 2025 vest
- A government-issued letter of authorization
- A digital tablet for data collection
If in doubt, residents are encouraged to contact the Census Office to verify the identity of any person claiming to be a census worker. The numbers are 562-7495, 562-7492 and 462-4775
Why Your Participation Matters:
The Census is the only complete count of the entire population and housing stock in Antigua and Barbuda. Your participation helps ensure:
- Fair distribution of public resources
- Evidence-based planning for schools, hospitals, roads, and utilities
- Accurate data for local and international reporting
Director of the National Bureau of Statistics, Statchel Edwards, emphasized: “Every single person counts. The Census gives us the power to make better decisions and build a better future for all residents of Antigua and Barbuda.”
The 2025 Census will run over the coming months, with results expected to be released in stages beginning in the first quarter of 2026.
