St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — July 9, 2026 — The Census Office has intensified field operations for the ongoing 2025 Population and Housing Census with the deployment of a second cohort of Census Enumerators across Antigua and Barbuda.
Beginning this week, residents throughout the country can expect to see an increased number of Census Enumerators visiting households and businesses to conduct interviews and collect vital information.
Field operations were temporarily suspended during the recent General Elections but have since resumed. The deployment of additional enumerators marks another significant milestone as the Census Office continues its efforts to complete this important national exercise.
The Population and Housing Census is a critical undertaking that provides reliable data to inform government policy, national development planning, and the equitable allocation of resources across key sectors such as health, education, housing, employment, infrastructure, and social services. Accurate census data ensures that decisions affecting communities are based on current and dependable information.
The Census Office is encouraging all residents to cooperate fully with Census Enumerators by providing complete and accurate information. All information collected is strictly confidential and is protected under the Statistics Act. Individual responses will not be disclosed to any unauthorized person, agency, or organization.
To assist residents in identifying authorized Census personnel, Enumerators will be wearing official Census vests and carrying a Census-issued photo identification card. They will also be equipped with a Census-issued tablet, an official Census bag, and an authorization letter from the Census Office.
As part of the ongoing public education and awareness campaign, Census officials will continue making appearances across television, radio, and other media platforms throughout Antigua and Barbuda.
These engagements will provide residents with opportunities to learn more about the census, receive updates on field operations, ask questions, and address any concerns they may have.
The Census Office extends sincere appreciation to the public for its continued cooperation and support. The success of the 2025 Population and Housing Census depends on the participation of every resident. By taking part in the census, individuals and households are helping to provide the accurate information needed to shape national policies, improve public services, and plan for the future development of Antigua and Barbuda.
The 2025 Population and Housing Census is being conducted under the theme:
“Mapping the Present, Shaping the Future.”
