Technical Note on the Compilation of CPI for October to December 2024: 28 February 2025

Technical Note on the Compilation of Consumer Price Index for October to December 2024
Date of Release: 28 February 2025.

Over the past four months, the Statistics Division within the Ministry of Finance and
Corporate Governance has encountered delays in the publication of the monthly Consumer
Price Index (CPI) due to technical challenges related to the compilation software and the
division’s relocation. However, these issues have now been successfully resolved, ensuring
the continued accuracy and reliability of CPI data moving forward.

We recognize the importance of the CPI as a key economic indicator that tracks price
changes in essential goods and services. It serves as a critical resource for policymakers,
businesses, and consumers in monitoring inflation and making informed financial decisions.
Although there has been a delay in the release of recent publications, the Division has
continued to collect pricing data according to the data collection schedule. As a result, the
CPI data for the affected months will accurately reflect the price changes during those
periods.

Therefore, with the release of the October 2024 through January 2025 CPI, the Statistics
Division will publish the Consumer Price Index with the prices collected from the outlets
during its monthly collection cycle. We will publish the outstanding publications by April
2025 and resume our regular monthly release schedule.

The Statistics Division sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and remains committed to
ensuring the quality and reliability of its statistical outputs.
