The Census Office seeks to assure residents in light of recent media post:
St. John’s, Antigua, May 16, 2025. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), through the Census Office, is warning residents about a recent social media post about individuals fraudulently posing as census workers.
Although the Census Office has not received any official reports from the public, it is assuring residents that these reported imposters are in no way affiliated with the 2025 Population and Housing Census for Antigua and Barbuda.
According to the Census Office, it should be noted that field activity has not yet started for the 2025 National Housing and Population Census. Furthermore, when the field exercise commences, Enumerators will be dressed in official Census attire and will carry a valid government-issued photo ID. Additionally, at no point will the Census workers request access to the general public’s home.
The Census Office adds that the safety and privacy of residents in Antigua and Barbuda are of the utmost importance. Therefore, we urge everyone to stay vigilant, and if at any time you suspect any impersonators, please get in touch with the police immediately.
The Census Office wants to inform the public further that once the Census fieldwork begins, residents will be adequately notified about the field activities and what to expect when an enumerator visits.
